I'm taking this Friday off (1/30) and thinking of hitting Cannon.
Does anyone know what the real conditions may be like tomorrow?

I know that the natural snow trails were scrapped bare prior to 1/28 snow. I'm sure that the 10+ inches that they did get will help but I wonder how much.

Maybe I should just hit Sunapee and wreck my quads on their moguls.

Bunch of TRs on T4T. Web site is reporting all glades open sans Tramline which means conditions are substantially improved. I can't say first hand, but that is where I would of gone today if I had had the chance to do so.

Knowing the mountain steve, do you think Kinsman will be open on Sunday? Tracked out, but still decent skiing on Mittersill? I haven't skied Cannon since I was in grade school and will be there Sunday. Those specific areas as well as Tramline, which I know will be closed are what interest me most in experiencing.

Can't say whether it would still be open after a few days of hard skiing without having seen the trail personally. However, I can personally attest from past experience that due to the pitch, nature of the trail, coverage issues, and sheer number of people that don't belong in there but want to ski a glade or all the black diamonds at Cannon, that Kinsman Glade deteriorates exceptionally quickly after the snow has been settled and skied out. By Sunday, without additional snow, I would expect Kinsman Glade to be skiing like a shit show. Put it like this... I have skied Kinsman Glade only about a half dozen times or so since it has been put on the map. Great glade. When it has fresh snow. Otherwise, there are better options for that type of thing. What it will be like on Sunday? Beats the heck out of me. I'll probably be BC'ing it this weekend, though.

thanks for the feedback.
Given that I had some problems getting out early, I'll opt for Sunapee - it's a shorter drive.

Considering your perspective from how many powder days you ski, your shit show probably = my epic conditions.

Kinsman Glade really shouldn't be open. I was around the 10th person down and it was already pretty hammered. Tons of sketchy stuff sticking out. I can't imagine what it looks like by now.

Kinsman need alot of snow to ski well. There is a lot of blown down that does not get cleaned up in there. I was there yesterday and it was not open at around noon. Mostly skied Profile as it was skiing the best that I have skied it in the last couple of years. Avalanche was very sketchy at around noon. It was surprising that Profile was better then Avalanche, rest of the front runs were fine though.

I do like that they shut the Tram down on weekdays to use that budget for snowmaking.

KUDOS!!!!!!
