Hey anybody know of any good canoe trips in Maine/New Hampshire/Vermont?

In the past we have used River Run on the Saco river but we would like to try something else, maybe a little more private and secluded.

Nothing too serious we are just looking for a sandy beach that we can set up a tent on for the night and an easy river that i will be able to navigate after a few cold ones. We need a rental company though that will also provide shuttle service. Thanks.

I HIGHLY recommend renting a canoe from Umiak and heading to the Green River Resevoir in Northern Vermont. Completely serene lake, best small mouth bass fishing I've ever seen and great camp sites.

canoe trips.....

As for the sandy beaches to hit the beach on, ditto....I love them too, but there are far more on ponds up in Maine....where, having registered for campfires, you can set up camp essentially anywhere. There are quite a few streams/rivers in Maine, but one of my favorites is the middle(Roll Dam) section of the W. Br. Penobscot...from Seboomook Dam(eastern tip of the lake) to Chesuncook (Lake). Unspoiled woodlands....isn't a day-thing, but if you have 3+ days....it's second only to multi-day, epic-snow skiing...but I & others often do day-things with bikes..stashing them in the nearby woods...wherever, then after ...driving wherever to get the job done...
Just have to make a good mental note of some landmarks that you won't miss.., or else you have a little walk...but you'll be surprised...it's the odd-note humans that are more likely to be any trouble, never the wildlife.

Thanks for all the recommendations. We chose the place below on the connecticutt, the ct is definitely more developed but it offered a central location for everybody and available canoes on one days notice.
