HIGHMOUNT, New York — Saturday, February 26, Belleayre Mountain will host the "Area 51 UFO Slopestyle Competition" to select the area's hottest skiers/riders for the new Belleayre Mountain Freestyle Team. In this unique event, the competitors judge each other to select the nine team members that will go on to train for next season's competitions. Team members receive a Belleayre Mountain Freestyle Team Sweatshirt and will enjoy on-mountain perks throughout the season.
The "Area 51 UFO Slopestyle Competition" is open to skiers and riders of all ages. The free registration begins a 8 am in the Overlook Lodge and will continue from 10 am through noon at the Terrain Park. Competition runs from 10 am to 2 pm. Minors must be accompanied at registration with parent or legal guardian. Faxed or pre-signed releases will not be accepted. Helmets are required for all competitors during practice and competition.
