Who else here got their start at the much beloved, and dearly departed Craigmeur ski area?

I skied Craigmeur when it was open but the one that really died too young was Snow Bowl up on Weldon Rd in Jefferson (Milton).

Here! I remember cutting out on my first lesson because the instructor wanted us to move from the rope tow to the chair lift…

Craigmeur was my first ski area at age 4. I also had many days at Snow Bowl. The last season for Snow Bowl was 1973-1974.

I remember being a kid and thinking it was cool banging your skis together on the chairlift as you passed over the pond, knocking the snow down into it. What wasn't cool was when the Spademan bindings opened up, and your rental ski fell into the pond also

I started skiing there when I was 10. It wasn’t much but it was our world up there. The parents would drop us off and we were free to do whatever we wanted. Skiing under the lights after school was special.

Those damn rope tows ate gloves. The t bar attendants would give us shotguns if we requested and the giant malamute dog could often be found laying in the snow outside of the lodge.

I instructed there while in high school under Andre which helped me develop my skiing form and technique. Craigmeur introduced me to a life long passion and lifestyle that I’ll be forever grateful for.
