I never got a chance to ski Snow Bowl, but it looks like it had potentialI skied Craigmeur when it was open but the one that really died too young was Snow Bowl up on Weldon Rd in Jefferson (Milton).
Thank you for reminding me of the giant dog! Big friendly loaf.I started skiing there when I was 10. It wasn’t much but it was our world up there. The parents would drop us off and we were free to do whatever we wanted. Skiing under the lights after school was special.
Those damn rope tows ate gloves. The t bar attendants would give us shotguns if we requested and the giant malamute dog could often be found laying in the snow outside of the lodge.
I instructed there while in high school under Andre which helped me develop my skiing form and technique. Craigmeur introduced me to a life long passion and lifestyle that I’ll be forever grateful for.
