Middle Exhibition has been seeded. A bunch of lanes all in full view of both the Grand Summit Express and the Summit Local. I figure the chances of seeing a starter jacket clad, rear entry boot wearing guy on 200+ cm match sticks is about an even money bet this weekend

Hey drjeff,

How crowded would you expect Mt. Snow to be this long weekend?

My guess will be 10 minute lines for the Grand Summit Express/Canyon Express, slightly shorter for Nitro Express. Northface chairs will probably peak out at times with maybe a 3 to 5 minute line. Secondary lifts will likely be their ususal less than a minute line. Probably a slightly greater than a usual mid winter weekend on hill volume. I think that the cold on Saturday and then the chance of light snow on Sunday maybe making the roads slick, will keep the "few times a year" folks away thus keeping things at roughly "normal" weekend volumes.

Later tonight after I get upto my place, I'll see if I want to ammed my statement based on the number of cars that are at the various hotels by Mount Snow.

The snow should be AWESOME as it was great on Monday, and it most certainly hasn't melted since then :)

Thanks for the detailed response. I haven't been to Mt. Snow before. Do those lift lines translate to crowded slopes or not? I have found over time that I can always convince my wife to take the singles line to skip the lift lines, but there is no good solution to crowds on slopes.

With 100% of the mountain scheduled to be open, for the most part, on trail crowd density should be reasonable. A good rule of thumb with respect to a wide open Mount Snow and crowd density, is that the trails on their trail map that they have designated as "PREMIUM" trails(the one's lined with their fan guns) tend to have the greatest skier/rider density.

When the Mount Snow is wide open, under most circumstances it won't be any more crowded then you'll typically find at any other major New England Mountain on a weekend. The only real possible exception to this might be "Deer Run" which is the main beginner trail from summit to base and it also serves as a connector trail to access many of the main mountains intermediate cruisers. Mid to Late afternoon this can get quite crowded and often by that point of the day some smallish bumps and/or scraped spots may be present.

For less crowded trails to check out for your preferred skiing terrain type, just ask one of the on mountain ambassadors(they wear yellow coats with blue trim on the sleeves and are all around the mountain) they'll be more than happy to point you in the direction of trail types that you might like and are skiing/riding good THAT DAY!

Greg, here's the photo that Mount Snow communications guy, Luke Stafford, put up on the Mount Snow passholders site last night.

I think that even a world famous, TV commercial bump skiing star like yourself might agree that they look "fake" (atleast until the get skied in (hopefully quickly) ;) :)
