I wanna be like Mike has a whole new meaning nowadays..............

As much as I hate to say it, the sigh of relief I make the second I get my ski boots off at the end of a long day.

The humm of a fixed grip and the sound when going across the lift sheeves of a tower on a warm spring day when you're on the chair, in the sun, with your eyes closed,.... thump, thump thump, thump!

the pillow soft quiet sound of dumping snow as it piles up on your toasty quads as you ride the lift back up for more free refills...occasionally interrupted by the squeak...squeak...squeak of a noisy lift tower...then back to the near deafening silence of snow falling heavily.

Silence is good.

Clicking in is a good one, especially with solid bindings. My current Looks sound better than my old Markers.

My favorite skiing sounds:

The low muffled sound of skiing powder
The strange silence in the woods
The wind whistling and roaring through the trees
In the spring, the chirping of birds

I ski to get away from the mechanized sounds of civilization. I like to hear myself think.

There is that squeaky sound fresh snow makes usually in the woods as a skier passes over, or it could be the subtle movements of bindings that is cool. There is also the sound of a lighter being flicked followed by the sound Doc mentioned

Before it broke, I loved the sound of the Gondola bouncing over the sheave trains. I really like the sound of my pipe rattling against my lighter and tin box of goods.
I hate the sounds of squeaking ski boots in the lodge or tourists yelling at their kids. One day, a lady was yelling at her 12 year old son because he wasn't waiting for mom and little sister. She was really giving it to the kid when my buddy walks up and says, " If you're like this on vacation you must be a real peach at home." The kid couldn't stop laughing with us as mom had a coniption.
Oh, and those walki-talki things.

Love the sound of two skis on the snow in a tight arc and then the whisper of a sound they make as they un-weight and head for the next turn.

Smile and Repeat.

Ski poles clicking collectively in approval.
Ravens call as it glids above you on the Mt.
A holler from a skier on a Powder day.
