The ski boot shop I went to recently said that's not necessary, and they literally do product design for Zipfit.
They said stock liners should last you a season, or at least 1/2 to 2/3 a season if you're one of those folks who ski 100 days.

They did recommend I come back for Zipfits next year, but I dunno, it seems like a huge pain in the azz. You need to inject/replace cork periodically or you lose the shape benefit, not that big a deal I guess, but the P.I.T.A. bit to me seems to be how you need to lace them up like shoes and then get into the boot every time you ski. I boot up outside the truck & just step into my boot; I guess I could sit on the back gate and do the same, but seems like a bit of a time suck.
I leave them in and they work fine..a lot of people..including the boot fitter do the same.
If your boot has a walk mode..the mechanism inside makes it almost impossible to do the lace up thing.

@KustyTheKlown and anyone else for that matter. you need these. I use them when I fly on a plane to ski and don't want to bring my 2-boot dry guy dryer. The have a regular plug or a car accessory (AKA cigarette lighter) plug.

Its nice always slipping into warm boots!

These work great not only in my ski boots when there is no stove or radiator to set them by overnight but also my work boots in the summertime - Total game changer on work trips to have clean, dry, and comfy boot interiors in the morning especially after slogging back into some soggy Louisiana hotel at midnight completely saturated head to toe in sweat lol. In the height of the summer, I even use them at home. Added benefit of packing into another pair of shoes in a suitcase, no extra space taken up and then the shoes can't get crushed.

One positive (and boneheaded) development I forgot to report in terms of the custom bootfit. And this is something I've never had happen before. A few weeks ago I was skiing down an intermediate groomer, fairly fast, and stopped to wait for my wife. I looked down & noticed I hadnt bucked my boots..... at all (none of the 4 clips), and I hadnt even felt it in my skiing.
