Personally dont think it counts. In order for it to count they need to be making snow to open, not just test.

The first to make actual snow is awesome, regardless of if it's a base building effort or not! :D

those are some pretty serious fan guns at loveland. they're usually the first to actually make snow and open for the season.

Loveland's biggest issue with their snowmaking system is their capacity (or relative lack their of especially when compared to what we're used to back East) What takes Loveland literally a couple of weeks under the guns to open, your average Eastern ski area could open up in a couple of days tops (and the snowmaking biggies could do in even less time). Since Loveland doesn't need mega capacity for the vast majority of their seasonal snow needs, not a hinderence as a similar sized system would be in the East
