3-4 inches at Sugarloaf. Enough to make it fun. Temps in the mid 20s and most importantly, no wind. Great day.

We live right near 40, so will probably go that way instead. May come back that way though just as an excuse to spend a day or two in Moab; we love it there.
Just be aware if you have not driven that stretch before, US-40 between Dinosaur and Craig is not a place to be if it's stormy. Clearly marked that road is not touched between sunset and sunrise. Other wise pretty drive over to Steamboat. (about 5 hrs) Seen a lot of Tumble Weed on that section.

I havent been on that stretch, but we'd leave 40 in Dinosaur and cut though Rangely, which is a blink-and-you-miss-it-town as I recall, rather than going near Steamboat, which would be an hour longer according to Google Maps. The only part of this drive I havent done before is about a 75 mile chunk between Rangely and Rifle. I actually love long drives in general, and driving randomly all over the American West is about as good as it gets.

Very confusing weather reports lately.
Alta site shows 6 inches coming.
NOAA shows nothing..but there is a winter weather advisory for up to 2 feet.
Cut backs in staff...I guess.

Well I like hearing about the weather east or west. Things are pretty lean here in the east and probably winding down further as we approach Easter. It was a good Northeastern winter even if it doesn't go that deep into spring. Mean while even though I'm not currently there I get a kick watching the web cams at Winter Park where it continues to snow. That's April in Colorado.
