We left the Catskills one day early to beat the blizzard home. We were unsuccessful. Stopped in PA Fri. nite, then drove home Sat. in BAD road conditions. Columbus had a record for one storm, 20.4 inches. Our house 20 miles southwest, only 12-15 inches. I sat in the hotel at Hunter Tues and Wed watching it rain for 24 hours straight. Then have to fight the snow just to get home. We got the powder but the 300 foot ski hills are not really worth going to. Here's our yard.

Well it did not really rain up here but I got about 2.5 inches of frozen something. It was puring sleet all day. Went over to the hill Sat. AM and there was abut 5 inches of heavy snow up at the top. Could not see 5 feet ahead of you had to go home before I got hurt. Last night it turned to rain for about an hour and a half then over to snow. We got about three inches at my house that just blew to places I dont know. Everything is on power hold over at the hill so far. The temp have dropped to 13 and the winds are pretty high. Am going to head over when I see the lifts spinning. Hoping to find some decent snow, expecting to find a solid chunk of ice. The storm did not help or hurt us as far ac accumulation up here. I dont think all the sleet was good for the slides but it will meld in they should be open in a week or two.
We are supposed to get lake effect all day so hopefully we will get another three or four inches.

Did you get pissed last night? ;) Weather sucks, but there's nothing we can do about it. Just hope it shapes up for better during the rest of the month.

These winds are murder. My sailboat is leaning like crazy, some flooding in the area from the wind driven tide and rain...and someones aluminium siding just blew into my yard....OY!

If they aren't i'll be surprised ! Titus will run out of skiers before they run out of snow . Nice hill but not killer

. Most blacks are really blues at bigger places and lifts are slow. 8 minute circuits if you RIP down teh hill "taking no prisoners" LMAO > Its a nice uncrowded , laid back , RETRO kinda vibe . No party skiers , mostly a our Canuck neigbors and of course Dackers
