Now that lift serviced is finished, I tallied my total and found that I got 30 days out of my All for One pass. I paid $420 for this pass, that comes out to $14 per day, that's going to be a tough one to beat, gonna miss you good friend

I miss her already, but yes, she served all of us well, I should think...

We have yet to see SR and Sugarloaf's deal. Only two places I made turns with on that Pass this season. oops I went to Attitash once.
Information on passes coming soon wore thin on me though. I get to stay less in debt for a while I guess.

If the K pass is expensive and they come out with a Pico only pass, I will seriously consider that one.

I did a Pico Only pass a couple of years ago....While it was great on pow days...the mountain does get old quick.

Although at the time (2002?) it was good at K-mart early/late (pre-pico-open and post-pico-close) season, which was sweet and made it worth it!!!!

What would be perfect is a moderately priced pass for Pico that includes K-Mart during pre and post season. They once did this, as pepperdawg said. We'd get one of these for Ms. TB and I would do the K-mart student pass.

I paid $365 for the Bronze and skied 20 days on the pass (18.25 a day) plus the $20 ticket I got for the black out day on MLK weekend plus all the discount tickets I got for friends with the bonus programs they gave us.

A41 pass was the best. I will miss it!!!!

The All For One is now a piece of skiing history. I hit ASC mountains 22 times this year and paid $365 for my Bronze Plus pass. That works out to about $16.59 per visit (or $17.50 if you count the fact that I paid $20 on MLK day). It was a great deal and gave you access to great mountains. Though it probably killed ASC in the end, it was a bonus for ordinary folk like me.

One thing that hasn't been said is how the pass was instrumental in getting newbies like me into the sport. It was cheap enough so you didn't feel like you were making a commitment to like sliding on snow. Once you got hooked into the sport, the variety of mountains gave you enough terrain to progress on.

They had great bonuses too from discounts, free lessons and magazine subscriptions that helped stoke your inner fire to learn more about the sport.

I miss the pass already, especially now that I've reconciled myself with the fact that next year's pass will put a serious dent in my budget. The longer that K and SR hold out on passes, the higher they can dictate the price. The early bird specials on other mountains are expiring so K and SR don't need to have bargain basement prices on their passes. Good for them, perhaps, but bad for us average joes.

And we are very glad you got hooked, Snowmonster. Glad we got li'l Snowmonster hooked too!

It's been great getting to know you a little and I look forward to more in the future. I love the fact that you continuousy want to learn more about the sport and it's history. It works out well for me 'cause I like to talk about it... too much. Anyway, great to have to out there and addicted. Send me a pm with your mailing address and I will send you some interesting stuff about our last ski destination, which I know ou'll enjoy.

As for passes. K's pass prices should come out within the next few weeks, if not sooner. As for SR and SL, it will be quite a while as there hasn't even been a sale. Yes, prices will go up at both, but when you do the math, you realize that it's still a lot cheaper for folks like us to have passes. :spread:

Wish they had some combo mountain out here in Utah. They have then for like Copper, winter park/mary jane for like under $500 I think...however the alta/snowbird pass is $1049. I can get just alta for $725 and then get $30 tickets for whatever days I would want to ski Snowbird. I think for the extra $324 Ill just buy the combo. Ive only been here a bit over a month and already skied 5 times at snowbird so...and its MAY.

I utilized the All4One as well...it will be sad to see it go.

That price of the pass sounds just about right.

Of my 59 lift-served days this year, 45 of them were at ASC resorts and I had the Silver Plus. So with my purchase price of $418, I ended up skiing for $9.28 a day. Not too bad! :daffy:

.

To the contrary I think the All4one was one of the things keeping them alive! They didn't begin offering dirt cheap prices because pass sales were record breaking...a company in good financial shape would never go below the margin that far...

As I most likely will be moving closer to Boston next year... I dunno where I will go. Would like to stay at Mount Snow but that's a big day trip. I got about 30 days in with the All4one. Rock on...

When I lived in Boston Cannon and Wildcat were day trip favorites. Cannon is a quick shot up I-93, boot up at tram side and grab the first Tram at 8:15. For over night trips the Loaf was tough to beat.

I paid $399 for Warren and I and we both got 20 days out of the pass, so at $19.95 per run it was a good deal for us.

Pass usage breakdown:

Mount Snow: 3 days

Sunday River: 5 days

Sugarloaf: 8 days

Killington/Pico: 4 days

I do not plan on getting a pass next season at this point, unless ASC offers a really cheap pass for Sunday River/Sugarloaf if they are not sold by next season.

sorry to see the all for one go, It made me ski more as I averaged 25 days for the past three years. I wonder how many passes they sold that were not used more than a week?

Over the last two years? Tons. As I understand it, ASC had a fallout in the 06-07 year because so many people didn't even break even on their 05-06 Bronze passes. The median skier with a Bronze pass was only doing about 9 or 10 days. ASC was happy to get $40/day skier yield.

Personally, I'm way off from my lifetime average of ~ 50 days/year. If I didn't have trips to Termas de Chillan in Chile, Mt Baker, and Monarch, my count for this year would be pathetic. In the east, I skied 5 runs Thanksgiving day, 1 run in January, and the season ended early.
