A Poma Leitner HS Lift Base terminal component. I assume it is heading to Stowe. I don't know of anyone else in VT or NY that is installing a new Poma lift. It was at least a HSQ piece because the inside had the guide wheels for carriers.

Does it have a Hemi?

Was the scene like the one on the idiot box in the ads for Dodge trucks? Did you climb out of your vehicle, jump on the back of the carrier and pull the canvas cover off? :daffy:

Interconnect

Does this mean that you will be able to ski both resorts on the same ticket?

Yeah, you always could. Now it looks like you'll be able to connect from the main base area (Mansfield) to the Spruce Peak area without driving over.

They used to be busses buzzing back and forth. Now you can load right by the Gondi Barn and get lifted over the Hwy.

You can do that now (with snow, of course). What you CAN'T do now is get from one to the other without walking or riding a motor vehicle, and walking in ski boots for that distance is a fate woise den det.

Now back when I skied smugs which was at least 15 years ago. This lift, however, would give me a good reason to go back to Stowe and shell out the $72 or so price of a lift ticket.

I think you're confused. You cannot ski both Stowe and Smuggs on the same ticket. Spruce Peak is part of Stowe. The new lift will connect Spruce Peak with Mt. Mansfield across the street without having to drive or walk. There is no connecting lift between Stowe and Smuggs. A Stowe lift ticket gives you access to both Mansfield and Spruce Peak (always has).

Just thought I'd clear that up.

Not really related to anything but the comment about the $72 ticket caught my eye. WTH is up with Stowe's ticket prices? Their college pass is 420 balloons. Sugarbush's is $320 and the Jay/Bolton pass is $230 i believe (only $190 for UVM Ski and Snowboard Club memebers :D ). It's not that I can't afford it, it's just that I can't justify paying at least 30% more for Stowe, than for another high caliber resort. The other thing that ticks mo off about it is: it has blackout days! I wouldn't be around for the Christmas days, but President's Day weekend is blacked out too.

Well, he is right. Smuggs and Stowe at one time did have reciprocity. You can cross from one to the other at the top of Spruce Peak. Smuggs used to have the trails marked and groomed. That promo ended though.

But the current project is an effort to link Spruce Peak with Mansfield.
