No pics as it was snowing so hard all day I didn't want to trash my phone taking it out of my pocket.
Arrived this morning to 5-6 inches at the base and it absolutely nuking. By the time I left they were reporting 14" and they definitely got every bit of that. The place was fairly empty with all lifts ski on all day. Rode the lift with more than a couple of people who were heading to either Loon or Cannon and aborted the trip for Gunstock as apparently travel was at about 35-40 mph on 93 and they were eager to get on the snow. While obviously not offering the same caliber terrain as Cannon or Loon, they were certainly not disappointed with the skiing at Gunstock today.
1.5 seasons into being a passholder at Gunstock, this was the day I had been hoping for; the place wide open with a deep base. It was fantastic. Never skied Recoil Glades before or Hot Shot and both delivered the goods, except Hot Shot could definitely use some manicuring as the pucker brush was out of control. Paralax and Gun Powder glades skied amazing, pow bumps on Red Hat were great. Overall a top 5 day for me over the past couple of seasons with so little traffic and deep turns to be had with every run.
From the reports I've read, it would appear that Gunstock was in the bullseye for today's storm. Making things even better for me is that I didn't really look at the weather this morning. When I left my home on the NH seacoast it was barely snowing. I certainly wasn't expecting the massive powder harvest I got today.
