I have a helmet cam that me and a friend made for bike rideing, that I want to use for skiing. Just dont know how to attach it. We have a peice of velcro on our motorcycle helmets, that works good, but there are no trees and stuff trying to pull it off.
I dont really want to go and put a peice of velcro on my ski helmet, cause its just ugly when not using the camera. I was thinking of using 2 small zip ties, and attaching the lipstickk cam to the goggle strap on the side of my head, and snaking the wire down into a napsack where the camera is. Anyone see any problems with this?

Or does anyone have a better idea. I just want to keep it cheap.

Thankyou.

Well, he didn't get any responses when he posted the question in someone else thread so he decided to start a new thread in the appropriate forum. I don't see anything wrong with that.

To answer the question, I don't think that mounting to the goggle strap will be stable enough for good video. Seems like it would bounce around too much.

I mount mine to the helmet using velcro. Been doing this for two years, no problems. When I did hit branches, worst case and it only happened once or twice, cam popped off helmet and dangled by cord, no damage and it made a nice effect in the film :) You do not want to mount to goggle strap due to the fact that you will always be moving your goggles and the cam will never be in the same place. You will need to set the cam position before skiing and do your best to leave it in the same position throughout the day. Hope this helps

I need to get one of these soon. I had my first soaring flight last night, and a hawk was my wingman for a minute. The folks on the ground said that he saw me working the ridge lift and flew over to me. Soooo amazing.

Then again I could be full of crap, this company that specializes in helmet cams sells a goggle mount and a headstrap mount, so your idea might work after all.

Hang gliding? Damn, you're a fool if you don't!

Well after buying the glider...harness...parachute...airspeed indicator...variometer...paying dues for launch site...I needed to let the wallet recuperate. Don't forget that I also have two growing boys to raise and pickup season passes for ;)

Two boys who strongly warned me what takes priority once the white stuff starts to fall
