untracked powder.

 :D

you are all alone and a trail opens up in front of you with boot deep untracked, not a line defacing the perfect sea of glistening white. you pause to take in the majestic scene, breathe deep the mountain air, and treasure the moment. savoring the moment, you envision the run before you that is about to commence. boot deep untracked down 1500 vertical feet.

hoots and hollars from the distance snap you out of your trance, instinct takes over, and you plunge into the deep stuff without a care in the world. body and spirit are one as you are freed from the ties that bind you to the world you normally know and understand.

best damn feeling in the world and it never gets old.

Makes me wish I had more than only two experience like you describe. And only one of them was I skilled enough to ski will in it.

It was one of the best feelings I've ever known though. When you make those first picture perfect turns, the snow flowing around your legs like sea foam around the columns of a pier, you can't help but follow the graceful motions of your skis.

Your awareness of the bluebird skies drop as the fresh, light, pure sugar rooster tails up around both sides of you. It stings your cheeks and hurts so good. Everything becomes fluid. As ungraceful and awkward as we normally are, that all melts away as we glide gracefully down the slope. The peaceful serenity washes over and you can't help but have an empty higher consciousness. It truly is poetry in motion.

MUST SKI.................... MUST SKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLAARGH!!!!!!!!!
