Hermitage/Haystack will be open to the public on Monday Feb 2. $49 plus taxes and fees, so about $57. Includes lunch. Money goes to charity. It's a no brainer for me...

Wow this is amazing I never thought I would be able to ski there. Thanks for posting. FYI, the date in the thread title is wrong, it is Monday Feb 2.

Is this every year? I had no idea this was a thing
First time open to non-residents. I'm not sure if prior years it was only Wilmington residents or other surrounding towns. Wilmington owns a lot of the property that the ski area is on. I know the first incarnation of the club agreed to allow some access for Wilmington residents at a reasonable price.

Initially it was just Wilmington residents, then they added Dover residents as well a year or 2 ago.

Wonder if this is gonna be a shitshow. I’d really like to see the place, but hesitant to burn PTO just to deal with weekend-style crowds who’re as curious as I am.

Only 500 tickets I believe are being sold. Crowds won't be an issue

I don't think it'll be crowded. How many people are gonna take a day off from work to ski an (IMO) otherwise not very noteworthy ski area? I'll admit I'm somewhat tempted to go, but just for nostalgia.

Edit. Wrote that^^ before I saw the 500 ticket limit.

The other thing that historically happens, is that once they start serving the add on lunch, plenty of the limited folks on the hill head to the clubhouse (their main base lodge) and enjoy the great food they put out for the rest of the day

I skied there a lot back when Mount Snow owned the place. It was great on crowded weekends like this one. It should be nice to get back there for a day and it will be my kids first time there. Very much looking forward to it!

The old Hidden Valley (now NWAC) is doing something similar on Fed 22. Unfortunately I'll be away for that one.

Any tips, favorite trails/glades, etc from people who have been there before ? Want to make sure I get the full experience for what is likely a once in a lifetime visit.

The witches pod is fun. Plenty of tree areas in between many trails that are easy to see. Its basically 3 smallish pods with a decent flat connector area in the middle of them. The lower section, below the clubhouse really isn't worth checking out

We used to ski well beyond the boundary on the Witches side. The fresh snow lasted forever. There was a decently marked traverse back to the lift. No clue if its still there. I remember the furthest out marking said "turn yer skis".

I was a guest a few years ago and the dining room has cloth napkins, nice flatware and cutlery, and a huge variety of really good food.

They have valet parking and carry your skis/poles to the lift. The guest locker room is all solid wood, not sure what the member room is like but there’s someone to help you with your boots.
