Lange RX 130 with a ton of custom work from the master Mr Richelson. It kills me that he's retiring as I'm not toooo far away from needing new boots but obviously he wasn't gonna work forever.
I really want to wait and see if Boa will gain traction or fizzle before I commit to new boots.

well I'm selling a business in May and expect to get alot more days in next year and beyond. especially days away from lifts.

I'm also trying to make sure I have enough complete setups and gear to have gear ready to go at NY home (closest to airport), at VT house and possibly stashed in truck / camper van at airport long term parking someplace out west.

haven't figured it all out yet really.

having underutilized equipment isn't the worst thing. it's not like it's going bad. tech has matured and besides step in bindings I'm not sure what's next.

compare it with cycling where if you have a custom frame or mtb, it will be hard to find components after a few years because the change the standards.

a few underutilized older snowboards ride just as well and accept new bindings and tunes fine. and ride like new boards. no loss there.

where as I can't find a new suspension fork to fit my 10yo frame and wheels.

i like the idea of parking a car in denver/salt lake/reno loaded up with skis ready to rock. lol

My new boots have boas and after one day on them I can definitely say I am impressed from first impressions. They grip the foot really well without creating any pressure points and its super easy to make small adjustments

I considered the Zipfits, but I like the stock Nordica liner and it was $75 vs what $500 for Zipfits. I'm sure the Zips are great, but I'm pleased with my decision

Pretty sure that Nordica uses cork for their liners so it is still in the same vein as a ZipFit anyway

They do, but they aren't full cork. Mine are not ultra sloppy for having about 120 days in them. It's a quality stock liners for sure

My bootfitter (actual pedorthist at the shop, not Joey sales guy) put me in nordicas with stock liners and I’ve got no complaints at all. Promachine120 I think

BOOTS:

1 pair new boots (not sure why anyone who isnt a racer would have more) with custom made footbed liners = Lange Shadow

SKIS:
Defunct:
Line Prophet 90 - used to be daily non-powder driver before new boots, dont feel like drilling and tapping them again.
Salomon X-Scream - used to be rock skis before new ski boots, 27 years old, basically destroyed

Currently Using:
Rossi Soul 7's - daily drivers now that I live out west
Rossi S7's - only for powder days & tree days

I'm going to buy some used powder boards, something like 120 underfoot about a month from now when the shops start rotating their fleet.

Try and find a backup liner.

Do manufacturers sell them? The shop I went to is literally one of the best on the planet, and are generally anti stock liner, but told me the boots I bought have one of the best stock liners currently made. They told me to come back for Zip Fits in a year or two once these are shot, but I think Zip Fits sound like a PITA even though they're supposedly awesome. If I could buy 2 or 3 backup liners for when these are shot I would 100% do so. Plus, the custom footbeds I have would obviously just plug & play right into them.

Nordica does.

I just happened to luck out on SkiTalk with a guy who just bought the same boot and size as mine with intention on going to Zipfits, so he sold me his for $75.

Also saw some on eBay
