I went up to Jay peak on Friday, April 26th, to a windy, cold stormy night. I stayed at the snowshoe lodge nearby for $30 bucks a night.
.
Saturday started off about 25 degrees and wind was from the west about 15 to 20 mph. The conditions were frozen with an inch or two on top, dust on crust. The 2 trails open (jet, Haynes) were completely scraped off by 2pm. i skiied it until 3 and went to the water park.
Sunday was much warmer, with less wind. The day strated off near 40, and winds around 10mph. The conditions were much better than the previous day. They dragged the tillers deeper and the first hour or so was pretty good cord.
i ran into cornhead (BOB) on my way to first chair and skiied, grilled and closed out the lift serviced season with him for the second straight year. I think we may have a tradition brewing here. It was a great weekend. If I wasn't doing the tough mudder next weekend at mount snow i'd earn some turns but 132 days is enough I guess.

I'm all for continuing our newly started tradition, had a blast. I love the pic of your breakfast, nice framing, bacon and eggs, the Subby, and both trails, all in the same shot. Now I've got the munchies, thanks .;-) Have fun at the Tuff Mudder, better you than me. Will someone be there to take some pics?

tough mudder

I will not have any way to get photos. I hope the organizers have something in place. I'll send them if I get any. Keep in touch. See you when it snows! Tim
