As first reported here this sale has been in the works for a while.

Bill announced this at our annual home owners meeting at the beginning of June but asked us to keep quite about it.

Some of the on mountain improvements he announced include replacing the Bonnie with a high speed quad. He hopes to do this as early as next summer. Also to help relieve the congestion at the Tram base, which will get worse with the construction of the two hotels, they plan to increase the parking at stateside and renovate the stateside base lodge so that stateside will become the preferred place for the day trippers.

Congratulations to Bill for buying the resort. I think that this means that the vision for the future of the resort will not change but without the restrictions of Mont Saint Sauveur things should happen quicker than in the past.

I agree - congrats to Mr. Stenger. No doubt he loves the place and will do whatever he can to keep it a successful business.

Wonder how this will effect Quebecois skiing at Jay without the MSSI season pass? I would think there would be a slight decrease in Jay traffic coming from across the boarder without Jay being on a multi-mountain pass unless the new ownership offers up a deal with the MSS resorts similar to the Burke deal.

Beat me to it....good bye MSSI. They wanted to dump Jay about 10-15 years ago anyway...and Stenger begged them to stay. He has owned a portion of the operation for some time.....

As for these changes: has the slowness been due to MSSI or lack of money? Both?

From an on-mtn perspective, you'll see lift and snowmaking improvements on this side first (still). WB, with a conservative guess, is still a few years away though Bill would probably suggest a more aggressive schedule.

I'm wondering how this will affect the time line of the West Bowl development.
