Mountain Creek is saying they will open South on Wednesday 12/16.
Campgaw is saying 12/18.
Hidden Valley's site just says they are making snow and will open soon.
Also it's not in NJ but it's close enough - Mt. Peter also is making snow and opening soon but has not posted a date yet.

Where did you get the MC info? I didn't see that on their web page yet.

It's from the "mountain report" on their website.

"Yesterday’s weather was all over the place – snow, sleet, rain, hail & thunderstorms all in the same day. It’s the weather buffet no one’s really hungry for when you’re working toward opening a ski resort. There’s good looking snow on the ground, but its depth is not near where it needs to be. We’re going to resume snowmaking today as soon as temperatures drop - forecasts are saying Friday should be very cold and dry. The plan is to open South top to bottom and littered with freestyle features. We’re shooting to open Wednesday the 16th, but it’s ultimately up to the fickle beast we lovingly refer to as Mother Nature. You keep your fingers crossed, and we’ll keep the updates coming. -Halley"

BTW I'm liking this weather - mid teens last night and 21 degrees right now. Teens tonight too.

Update.....

Mountain Creek has snow guns going at South and Vernon areas. Nothing seen at....not sure what they call that "middle" area that used to be called "North" that has the blue double chair.

No snow gun activity seen from from in Vernon at Hidden Valley.

I drove by MC around 1PM and the guns were going on Vernon and South. On Vernon it looked like Upper and Lower Horizon, Cab Ride, Sugar Slope and Triple Bound. At South they were blowing on at least one trail from the top and all the base areas.

Hidden Valley is blowing snow on the base area, Chicken Delight and it looked like Upper Highland Swing and Lower Breakneck. HV said they will definitely open for the season on Saturday 12/19 but they are trying to open Thursday 12/17 - weather permitting. So hopefully I'll start my season on the 17th.

I find it puzzling that they intend to open South first. Especially since they are going to require a park pass this year to ski/ride there. I'm going to have to remember to find time to stop by before the place opens to get one. I picture the first couple days they are open being a pain to pick one up.

MC still set to open South tomorrow at 12pm, and Vernon on Sat.

We are LOVING life right now. South is set to open tomorrow, Dec. 16th – lift starts spinning at 12pm. Expect a top to bottom terrain park courtesy of Marc and the park crew. They’ve been working around the clock building an assortment of small to medium jibs & hits. Vernon peak will open Saturday, Dec. 19th at 9am. (Psst – all access season passholders get first dibs at 8am!) Till then, our grooming fleet will be out in numbers laying down the Jersey corduroy we all know and love. Also – our tubing hill is opening early this year! Hours: Friday, 5-8pm; Sat. & Sun., 10:30am-8:30pm. Ready for more good news? Supreme snowmaking weather returns early Wednesday morning - guns will be humming throughout the resort. I suggest you pack your car tonight. Tomorrow is not to be missed. See you at noon! -Halley

I think I'll be there Sat, probably ski 8-10am.

If HV is open for night skiing Friday I'll probably be there. Then HV or Mt. Peter with my son Saturday morning and possibly MC Saturday night. Sunday I'm going to the Jets game so no skiing.
