HANCOCK, Massachusetts -- President's Day weekend at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort brought out a record of 17,401 skiers over the three day period. The new record beat the previous best President's weekend record set in 2007 of 15,153 skier visits. Monday, February 16th set a single day and night record for President's Day with 5,667 skier visits.

Jiminy Peak's President and CEO Brian Fairbank stated, "we are thrilled with the success of the holiday weekend. It shows us that people really value their time spent with family, outside in the fresh air, even during these challenging economic times. It makes us hopeful for what lies ahead the rest of the season."

Jiminy Peak's total skier visits year to date are 195,207, 11% ahead of the current record season. In addition to skier visit records, the resort's SKIWee and Explorer program was up 7% over 2007, teaching 898 students during the three day period. Participation in the GET Skiing and Burton Learn to Ride programs, for first time skiers and riders, was up 13% from the previous record year. The Rental Shop rented 8% more skis, snowboards and boots for a total of 3,411 units. Jiminy's food concession, Boston Culinary Group, reported being up 4% for food and beverage sales over the weekend.
