Trip Report: traded work friday for sunday because we knew the weekend was iffy at best. friday turned out to be an awesome day. after a couple warmups down the skye-bitter, by about 10:30 the sun started shining and superstar started softening. bumps were in full bloom. sure the headwall had some rocks and middle had some thin areas but the bumps particularly on lower were great. after lunch hooked up with some of the k-zone crew for a 'nature' walk over to double dipper which yielded the sweetest corn bumps of the day. back to supe for another 5-6 runs. bumps on lower were really soft now, super sweet. then it was time for another nature walk, this time to outer limits. savored every turn of this beauty. bumps much bigger than dipper. finished out on the bump course on the bottom. all in all a great day.
as for saturday, as andyz said it was a mixed bag between lift probs & supe being a glacier early. we came back out after lunch and lower supe (upper was still a skating rink) was finally starting to soften. the course at the bottom actually getting good but by 2-2:30 with light rain starting to fall we called it quits.
from what i understand they intend to tough it out for one more week. i'm sure after the rain, middle supe will have some walking. they might have enuf snow up top to patch up the headwall. there were also one or two prob areas on skye/bitter. we're on the fence about next weekend.
