KILLINGTON, Vermont -- Killington Resort, home of the longest ski and snowboard season in eastern North America, will host the 14th Annual Spring Loaded Pro/Am snowboard event on Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8. As Killington's signature snowboard event, and one of the largest on the east coast, Spring Loaded is a magnet for top professional and amateur riders who have been training all season for spring events.

"This is definitely Killington's biggest and best snowboard event of the season," said Josh Arneson, Event Manager for Killington. "Spring Loaded brings together sun, snow, loads of great riders, and a springtime vibe that keeps spectators happy and fosters a high level of competition."

The pro riders compete for $5,000 cash and amateurs throw down for some great prizes. The weekend kicks off Saturday morning with superpipe at 10 a.m. and the rail jam at 5:00 p.m. The slopestyle competition will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning. All events will be held at Bear Mountain and are for snowboarders only.

Killington's fun spring atmosphere abounds for competitors and spectators alike, with a live performance from up-and-coming hip hop act Kidz in the Hall, on Saturday at 2 p.m. along with deck parties and barbecues.

Registration is $30 ($50 for pros) for pipe, $30 ($50 for pros) for slopestyle and $10 for the rail jam. These prices are per event. Online registration is available at Killington.com and will close on Thursday, April 5 at 11:59 p.m. (EST). Registration will be available the day of the event space-permitting, but is subject to an additional processing fee of $5. Registration will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 -9 a.m. and again from 3:30 -4:30 p.m. on Saturday for the night rail jam. Registration will take place on the 3rd floor of the Bear Mountain Lodge. However, competitors are urged to pre-register to lock in their spot as registration is limited to 200 entries for the halfpipe competition, 150 for the slopestyle competition and 75 for the rail jam.
