Resort or Ski Area: King Ridge

Conditions: Powder on top of thin crust

Trip Report: Met up with seven people and two dogs to check out the Hatter again. The crust took some adjusting to, but fun nonetheless. Shuttling cars works great. Ended up with six runs in two hours. Beautiful day. Not a speck of wind and almost 20 degrees. Uphill traffic caught us by surprise a couple times.

Video is long, but the pace picks up (eventually).

Great report. Can you give any tips on King Ridge? I've always wondered whats left of the place. How many of the runs are still skiable?

The runs are in good shape, but there are only a couple with enough pitch to get some turns in. Most of the trails are on conservation land but the last open lot at the top has been built up, so you have to ski across someones yard to get to the public land. The people up top are pretty uptight about you parking there (it's a private road), but if you're parking at the bottom it's no problem.

Thanks much for posting this info. How viable is it for snowboarding? I do see a boarder or two in the vid but is there a lot of shlepping involved for them?
