Lake MX145 Shoes - Wide - Men's
Cold, wet feet can take the fun out of a ride in a hurry, especially if youre way out in the woods with miles of snow between you and home. Lake has you covered. It started with the MXZ303 winter biking boot, but honestly, its overkill unless youre doing some very serious, very cold snow biking. For most of us, the MX145 mid-weight winter shoe will do very nicely. And, if you happen to be wide-of-foot, this is the version that you want.
The MX145 starts with Lakes Race Sole. This fiberglass injected sole is relatively stiff and features a Mountain Race X non-marking rubber outsole. This combination has the stiffness to put plenty of power to the pedals, and offers lots of traction off the bike at the same time. The uppers are a highly water-resistant waxed canvas and leather, and Lake installed a waterproof membrane to seal out the elements. The insole features a heat-reflective material facing your foot and a waffle pattern facing the sole that traps heat inside the shoe.
The dual Boa closure has been quickly adopted by the professional ranks due to the fact that it offers easy fine-tuning, and it stays tight throughout your entire ride. And since youre able to independently adjust tension on the forefoot and the heel, you can lock down your heel, without having to over-tighten the rest of the shoe. And as you probably know, that means better bloodflow and greater comfort.
