Looking for backcountry ski gear advice or articles

experienced downhill & (classic) xc skier but haven't backcountry skied before

appreciate any advice on what is a good beginner backcountry skiing set-up, where to buy, or good things to read to get more info (am thinking "light tele" vs AT)
