All the chairs and benches I see made out of skis all use 80's and 90's skis and although kinda cool, most are pretty ugly. Now a chair made out of nice wooden skis all stained the same color and soundly constructed would be really nice. Something that would look really nice in a study next to a big brown leather chair. I bet you could fetch $1,000 + for something like that.
Have you ever seen the house in VT that has a fence made out of '80s and '90s skis? I think it's on Route 100, but I could be mistaken. A little tacky, but an interesting concept.

Yes, a bench/chair made out of wooden skis would look nicer. But I also wasn't looking for something that was living room quality. I also someday would like an outdoor swing made from an old chair. ;) Guess we're a bit kitschy here.

Someone will bite on that. Aesthetically speaking though, I would go with a wider lampshade that's in more of an earth tone. Sand or light brown, maybe.

Looking for some input on "Ski Lamps"........My Father is retired and has started making these. They are antique hickory skis with a cherry base. Wondering 2 things, 1 being do you feel there is a market for such an item, and 2 what do you feel such an item would be worth.

Looking to test the waters before launching on ebay etc.......thanks

I like the idea, though I also think a better lamp shade could be used.

I don't see any problem cutting up old skis for this sort of thing, it's not like they're going to be used again. If not getting made into lamps they'd probably get thrown away...
