Trip Report: So today I ended up at lovely Loon Mountain in Lincoln for a half day of skiing as I got a late start. Today was a great day out on the snow. While it was a little chilly out, with temps in the teens and a biting wind at times, all in all it was damn good. I took the gondola up, and then crossed over to south peak to check out Cruiser and Boom Run, only to ski Cruiser (with a ton of lightly tracked man made powder... since the guns were on) since the wind was biting pretty bad there. Over on the main peak I skied Upper and Lower picked rock, Upper and Lower Rumrunner, Rampasture, Seven Brothers, and flying fox. All of which were nice packed powder, with some hard packed spots in places. I also made my way over to north peak to take a few runs on both Walking the Boss and Flume. Great runs, although it was getting a little icy in places especially on Lower Flume, both with crazy winds from the top. Made my way back over to loon peak via Sunset, which was scraped off in places, and with a biting wind.. And back down Flying Fox to Seven Brothers which was getting icy at that point with most of the snow blown off. All in all a great day, look forward to maybe a Wachusett Monday night!
