Loon Mountain
POW, PP, PSS
From last nights storm, I thought today’s snow would be a little on the heavy/wet side. I was wrong, and happily so! All morning and early afternoon the trails sported POW and PSS (Powder Sugar Snow), I couldn’t have been happier! Sunset, Upper Flying Fox/Picked Rock, Lower Picked Rock all held onto its pretty light POW all day. Total accumulation was around six inches, more than the original forecast of 2-4. Another plus was that it was Monday, and you skied right onto the lift.
Whales were being flattened on Upper Coolidge Street and the guns are waiting to go on Lower Walking Boss and Lower Flume. Saw tracks on Big Dipper, Angel Street, and the lovely Triple Trouble. Decided better of it as I would like another 6-8 inches of base and then down we’ll go!
Skied until one, and called it quits because of the flat light coming in. Will head back out to Loon tomorrow with another couple of inches in the forecast!
Twelve days so far this season!
