LINCOLN, New Hampshire -- Loon Mountain is once again calling for the creative talents of kids, and kids alike, to demonstrate their construction and artistic skills for the annual Cardboard Box Derby on March 25. Cash prizes will be awarded in various categories. Registration is free, but limited to the first 75 entries.
Registration will be from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the Governor Adams Lodge. A cardboard box parade will start at 11 a.m. to show off the creative and decorative talents of the participants. The race will begin at noon and take place on Coolidge Street. There are three divisions for cash awards: Best Themed Favorite Trail, Fastest Timed Run of the Day and Best Crash. The Cardboard Box Derby is just one of the great ‘King of Spring' events that Loon has scheduled. On March 31, the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge Finals brings top qualifiers from its regular season challenges to Loon for the finals. On April 7, the Slush Pool Party takes skiers and riders skimming across a pool of slush at high speed. And on April 8, Loon will once again host its Easter Sunrise Service at the top of the mountain.
