Temps -8 at the base. -10 at the base of the North Peak chair. -20 at top. Packed powder conditions with a little loose granular.

Needless to say it was cold, but really not that bad. Wind was mellow.

Leaving Sunday River around 8.30 am it was -12. I saw -16 on rt 115 on my way. A stop at Loon was a nice way to break up my trip to race at Pats Peak on Monday night..

Parked at the Governors side and put on all the layers I owned. I went up the west quad and headed over the the Gondola. Angel St was the first full run. Still a great steep cruiser, Then I went and did Walking Boss and Sunset to Haul back to Lower Flume. The North peak was great. Upper Flume looked Solid to me and I skipped that. Walking boss was awesome,as was lower Flume.

After the first few runs I headed down to meet up with Snowseek and Johnskiismore. We all got together around 12.30 and made runs on Picked rock, Flying fox, Bear claw, Rum Runner, and Blue ox. Upper Picked was the best.

Been to Loon twice in the last 3 years. Really nice to go on a mid week day and ski top to bottom and get the vertical. Some really great Cruisers. I enjoyed taking brookway a few times and just look at the water and relax and smile.

Great to hang with snowseek and Johnskiismore. They did not have to wait for me that much. Went top Babes and saw some great old friends.
A perfect day. I will be back a few more times. I love my move to the River, but Loon still is a great place when you can just go run after run.

Yea it was cold. Glad you all stayed home. :)

Good times!

I followed your exact tracks several times, it was a nice direct line, I liked it. It was an awesome day to let em run, empty, pp.

I've really come to like Loon this winter, they have their shit together even more than I remember. Excellent on the midweek this year. I really like the contrast of area on the silver pass. Johnskismore has it figured out being parked in town, I need to swing over to C-man sometime (when I'm not driving lol).

The conditions were great! Not a bad run at all, and I agree that Upper Picked was the best. All in all Loon has done a terrific job so far this season. Can't say enough about it

Nice skiing with you too Bobr and Snoseek, looking forward to doing it again! Snoseek have a blast in Telluride next week!

I was there on Saturday and I didn't really have a problem with the much-vaunted Loon crowds. If you know where to go, you can have Loon to yourself.

Yup. First time for me at Loon on Saturday, spent 25 minutes in the gondola line, then spent the rest of the day at the basin area and lapped runs with no lines there. Triple Trouble was killer.
