I just watched the "Ripsaw preview" video on Loon's home page.

They state that they are going to start blowing next week as soon as the temps allow.

The race to be first in the northeast might be over (congrats to SR), but we're getting to the point where most places are going to start blowing.

So for Northeast resorts we've got:

1. Sunday River (10/30)
2. Dry Hill (10/30)
3(?). Killington (11/2) - I can't see anyone else sneaking in here, but you never know
4(?). Mt. Snow (?) - Launchpad doesn't count

Who's in that next tier with Loon to get open?

Okemo is going to start making snow tonight...Why they waited and would start now is beyond me with the warm temps coming.

"Next week" could be tomorrow (11/01) if temps allow. It doesn't look likely.

That's obviously what these folks at Mount Snow today are thinking too ;)

Loon's snow makers have been setting up all this week. A few routes are ready to go: Exodus, Flying Fox and Crosscut to East Basin and Brookway to the bottom; Picked Rock top to bottom with routes to the Gondola and Kanc Quad. We hope temperatures will drop after this weekend.
