It's a move geared toward fighting obesity

Makes sense, I'm sure a majority of the extra calories that kids eat comes from bake sales...

Absolutely. And it's the bake sale itself, not the lack of self control, inadequate nutritional education, or inability to think more than the next tasty bite of cakey goodness ahead, that causes obesity.

Just think what the world would be like if we didn't have these politico's to save us from ourselves. I mean these people are just so caring and sooo smart. :puke: I mean bakesales are not innocent like some 7 year old selling lemonade by the street. Oh wait some towns have put an end to that by requiring sellers to have a licence. Inch by inch freedom slips away.

Getting soda and candy machines out of schools is good. But then there is always someone who wants to take it to the next level. This will never happen. Are they going to ban GS cookie sales next?

And along that line, it's apparently better to ban bake sales rather than addressing education funding shortfalls, the inability or refusal to properly fund schools, or exactly what an education should involve.
