I have not posted in a while and also find this the best place to get computer help. I have a question regarding wireless. I am using a Motorola SBG-900 modem/wireless router all in one product. I am using a Macbook and also have IPTV (connecting wirelessly). I have no issues connecting either one. However I can not connect to the net using a XP based laptop. I thought it was the laptop and tried another XP based lap top and same issue.
I decided to change the wi-fi channel down to "1". The XP's connect & IPTV works, but the mac connects but is very slow to load any pages. I go back to channel "5" and the XP's will not connect and the Mac is back to full speed.
Do Macs have an issue on the lower part of the 2.4xx frequency on the standard wireless G? My home cordless phones are the new DECT 6.0 ghz frequency as the former 2.4ghz caused the IPTV's picture to freeze up. So now nothing in my house is in the 2.4ghz band.
