Always love hearing that West, where I rode my 1st chairlift ever back in December of 1980, is once again thriving!

Location wise West is in a pretty decent spot. Low elevation aside, for snowmaking they have an unlimited supply of water (The Hudson River) and its far enough north to turn that into good cover. Warm weather activities including, at the lake (George), and Saratoga in August. Gore and even Killington not bad day options and a highway that goes straight to NYC. On the flip side it's NY not the most tax friendly place in the world.

Vonn is actually the head of their FIS athlete program. Former US Ski Team racer and long time highly regarded coach, Steve Lathrop is the overall program head.

The Montgomery family who runs West, has put together a very high level program and facilities for training and racing, and their own kids have certainly benefitted from it!
