Well, you asked for it. Wait, nevermind, no you didn't. But here it is anyway. I decided it would be a good idea to do this already since I will probably use my climbing skins this weekend.
- Install very expensive and highly elaborate brake retainers.
- Put tip loop on, install clip fix on one end and put uncut skin on ski, then mark the location on the skin directly on the tip loop.
- Use tip shape paper provided, and cut out to your specific width as indicated. I traced over my particular pattern with the indelible marker. I'd recommend this unless your eyes come with built in laser guided tracking.
- Trace outline of pattern onto skins. The line marked previously is lined up with the fold line indicated on the pattern.
- Pattern on skins after tracing.
- Trim, install tip loop and fold skin over on the previously marked fold line. Install tip end first on ski as pictured.
- Install the tail of the skin and then run the cutter right down the side of the ski.
- Take off tail, move skin laterally a few millimeters (so when it is cut and centered, both edges are exposed) and trip the other side. My sexy hands are modeling here.
- Both skis finished, a beautiful thing.
- Final step: enjoy the skis!
