While it's not as good as most self, freshly mixed margaritas, in a bind if you can find them, these aren't

1/2 bad. Just serve them cold over ice.

Here is my simple yet deliciously good recipe:

2 parts of El Diamante Del Cielo Reposado Tequila
1 part fresh lime juice
1 part triple sec
plenty of ice...

shake it up, rim glass with margarita salt and drink. Super simple, yet damn good... Yes the tequila is wicked expensive, but it is damn good...

Surprised with all the frozen margarita fans

IMO - rocks/salt is the only way to have em

Agreed. If I'm feeling particularly fruity and ghey I'll go with a Pina Colada or a daiquiri. Margaritas are rocks and salt only 'round here.

Yeah, but nothing like frozen on a nice hot summer night.

So you see my friend, it is somewhat as you stated: man has but one truly effective weapon against the juggernaut of modern matriarchy, but it certainly is not laughter. One weapon, and with every passing year in this hip, motivationally researched society, more and more people are discovering how to render that weapon useless and conquer those who have hitherto been conquerors

Unless you make frozen margs at home, ordering them in a bar, especially the premix machines can be a big ripoff depending on the owner or the bartenders. We used to make the mix with barely any tequila and triple sec, dump it in the slushy machine, and everybody loved em, lol. Some folks would order a shot on the side for a booster, lol.

If you're freezing or using a mix, there's not much point in using good tequila. Sauza works great.

My favorite margarita- tequila, bit of Rose's Lime, ice. Simple, tasty.

Even better tequila drinking method- with Sangrita- 2 parts tomato juice, 1 part orange juice, 1/4 part lime juice, pepper/hot sauce to taste. chilled tequila in one glass, cool sangrita in another. Sip of tequila, sip of sangrita. It's how the Mexicans roll.

on the rocks:
Milagro Silver Tequila (as good as patron, but cheaper)
Contreau
Grand Marnier
splash of OJ

Frozen
Milago Tequila
fresh lime juice
Sour Mix

usually go cheaper on the frozen as i make more and using the good stuff would get pricy

It depends. I had a frozen strawberry margarita tonight that had little kick to it. Followed it up with a frozen raspberry margarita and WOW. :-o I could definitely smell the tequila and I think I smelled like it afterwards. I was loopy pretty quickly (and this was after eating, whereas the strawberry was before eating) and blabbing away. I forgot how loud and chatty I get when I drink.

Still, it tasted great. I don't like rocks/salt margaritas. Only frozen ones for me.

I was gonna make frozen daqs, but opted for frozen margs cuz I have more tequila than rum and I picked up fresh pineapple ($3.99/each) and kiwis (6/$1) at the store. WOWZERS! Pineapple/Kiwi margs are workin' fer Moe ;)

The luau for my college reunion last night had some of if not the thickest frozen margarita's I've ever seen. My wife was drinking them (Harpoon Summer Ale was my poison), and after the first one, she realized that I either needed to get a spoon for her or get her 2 the next time so she could have one and let the other one melt enough to be drinkable  Unfortunately with the temporary alcohol permit they had for the luau under the tent, they couldn't mix a non frozen margarita :(
