Mavic Giova Women's Shoes

PEAWH.jpg

Women are slowly gaining momentum in the male-dominated world of cycling. From major sponsors funding women's road teams to the team pursuit on the track being lengthened to the same distance as the men's, women are being granted much sought after parity. When it comes to cycling gear, women deserve the same impeccably designed gear as men. Mavic's Giova shoes provide all the same features as its men's road shoes with subtle differences designed to fit a woman's foot.
The Giova is built upon Mavic's Energy Carbon Outsole. This sole is one of the thinnest on the market and features a 7.5mm stack height which places your foot closer to the pedal. It should be noted that thin does not mean weak or soft. This carbon sole is one of the stiffest on the market. Having less material between your foot and the pedal means that energy transfers more efficiently. Additionally the soles allow for a 5mm fore and aft cleat adjustment so you are sure to have optimal cleat placement for maximum power. The uppers were constructed from a breathable mesh and synthetic leather. Inside the shoes are the Ergo Fit 2D Women's insoles. Comprised of two different densities, the rear features a high density heel cradle while the front is a softer, more pliable material to absorb shock to the metatarsal area.
In addition to the Energy Carbon soles maximizing power transfer, the shoe itself must fit the foot like a glove. To aide in this, Mavic used its Ergo 3D Eva tongue insert. This tongue is pre-shaped to follow the contours of the instep and to provide padding for the top of the foot. Securing the Giova are two hook and loop comfort straps and an Ergo Lite Ratchet. The latter is micro-adjustable so that the shoes precisely fit you feet. Finally the back of the shoe features padding around the achilles tendon for added comfort during long races or rides and reflective accents for low-light visibility.
The Mavic Giova Women's Shoes are available in whole and half sizes from 5.5 to 10.5 and in the color Pearl white.
