In creating the Ksyrium ES Wheelset, Mavic took its industry staple-the Ksyrium SL-and lightened it up for the tenacious climber. As with the SL, the ES Wheelset features lightweight Zircal flat spokes to improve aerodynamics and increase durability, and it has UB Control and SUP rim treatments for a flawless brake surface. Besides this, the ES-Edition Speciale-sets itself apart. A 22mm front rim profile (as apposed to the SL's 25mm) reduces wind resistance, cuts weight, and improves performance in crosswinds and on fast descents. Meanwhile, the rear wheel's 25mm profile adds rigidity and resists flex, resulting in greater power transfer. Mavic further reduced weight by integrating an oversized carbon fiber front hub, and by using titanium in the skewers and rear hub. This wheelset is clincher and Shimano/SRAM compatible. It includes wheel bags, a Zircal spoke-specific wheel magnet, truing wrench, and bearing adjustment tool.
