How much does this bother you? I would think i'd be waaaaaay over it by now as i've missed far more then i've encountered but i'm freaking squirming in my office knowing i cant get out till monday. Maybe its the new snow combined with the early season enthusiasm but its killing me today. tomorrow will probably be far worse.

and on another note, is it fair game to bust friends balls about not being able to go or is that below the belt? I need a ruling on that one.

They invented cell phones so you can call your friends at the office on a powder day gloating about the great conditions.

Got skins? Come tour SBN. Powder isn't going anywhere over there.

I'd get my ass kicked if i tried skinning up stowe with my bump skis and windpants.

i'm not like you, you avoid lifts, i avoid excercise at all costs.

SugarBush North. It's closed still so it will be largely untracked. I'll be there Sat., Sun., Mon., Basically every afternoon until the snow turns to crap or they open...

And they invented cell phone cameras to text them the pics of the goods while you're skiing them!!! :)

I thought those were invented for random drunken photos/texts ;)

Personally I don't sweat missing a powder day, just simply because I'm sure that they'll be more than a few more that I'll make in my ski career :snow:

It used to bother me alot when I was in college..it seemed like I often had a class with mandatory attendance or an exam/presentation on a powder day. I realize that I can't ski every powder day but as long as I get several days of freshies each season I'm happy. I can't recall a season where I didn't get at least a few powder days since I was in high school..

I have the day off ..do I chance the drive along the 100 miles of icy roads that is forecasted to come in order to reach the snow? ... I really want to go to Sunday River tomorrow..

Of course...do you have good tires...AWD or at least FWD??? Drive up there now and stay overnight..

It doesn't bother me all that much since I'm not in the mountains watching snow fall, knowing it would be easy to get to skiing. And I' know i'll see reports and stuff so I can live vicariously. However, next seaon in Bozeman I expect it'll bother the hell out of me having to make the go-to-class/ski-powder decision.

Think about scheduling some evening classes for the 2nd semester..or at least mid-afternoon or later so you can get some untracked in the AM..I assume you'll be getting a season pass at Bridger Bowl...

Abso-freakin-lutely. I'm going there when I get out of work in the morning. I kind of wanted to go to Loon on Friday because there are some skis at Rodgers I'm interested in and ski the River on Sunday but, no kidding, the drive up 93 to Franconia Notch on a snow day is terrifying. Something about that road makes people retarded.

The drive to SR, however, is half highway, half backroad, way fewer idiots, and better skiing. The crews will have all night to make the roads somewhat drivable. I live on the seacoast; if I wasn't working, I'd leave at 5:30 and enjoy a nice, slow drive with good music, grab some breakfast, and get the first chair at 9.

It used to freak me out. Then I realized there's alot of powder that never get's skiied, just waiting for me out in the woods, and most people are too lazy to go harvest it.

Absolutely on the season pass. And I'm already thinking of ways to get in as much skiing as possible. That classes in the afternoon thing sounds like a good idea. I'm thinking there will be days when I just don't go to class. :spread:

I did everything in my power to try and schedule classes on Tuesday and Thursdays in the winter at bare minimum at least getting Friday off.

...but, blowing off class was a common thing for me. From High School through college my GPA for the spring semester was anywhere from .5-1 point lower than the fall every year.

As for getting pissed about missing a powder day these days....I don't. I have made an employment / life decision that doesn't allow for me to play hooky. If there's powder on Saturday or Sunday, I'll be there, mid-week, I'm rooting for everyone else to go get some. It is what it is.

That's a healthy attitude. You must be older than I thought! ;)
