Resort: Mount Snow

Conditions: Overcast all day with light snow falling until 12/12:30ish then a very light mist after that. temps in the mid 20's climbing slowly all day to about 30. Nice soft pack machine groomed snow with some bumps trying to be formed/worked in on freefall/Beartrap and Yard Sale. Light crowds

Note, as of 7:30PM when I'm typing this, it's still below freezing (30.4) on my deck with a light mist still - no appreciable ice accumulation as of yet :)

TR: Hit the hill about 8:45 after dropping the kids off at snowcamp. I was expecting both warmer temps and bigger crowds than I found today - the temps were more of a factor for me as I dressed for the warm/wet stuff that was forcasted but never materialized - ended up having to change into some warmer gloves and add a vest under my coat mid morning. The snow surfaces were good, really good! Nice soft pack machine groomed snow as the primary surface all over the place with a couple of firmer spots in the usual high traffic intersections.

Thanks Walt was cruising real nice, took a couple of quick laps down Beartrap to try and get some blood flowing in my fingers - freestyle time was working in a bump line on Beartrap. Then I took about a half dozen laps of Mineshaft to Inferno which was pure GS arcing bliss - my ROTD!

Back over to the main face to do some "parental spying" on my kids in their lesson groups - some nice "covert" turns were made on Snowdance, Canyon and Roller Coaster in the process. Finished the day with some runs down the Northface with some attempts at bumplines on Freefall and an au natural rope drop on some of Plummet - not bad, but had to be a bit carefull of some variable denisty snow. Good news is the forcasted rain hasn't arrived and the overnight forcast is calling for a "wintry mix" so fingers crossed that the liquid will stay South and West overnight!

No pics today as the light was pretty darn flat and not very photogenic today :rolleyes;

Good deal Jeff. How'd they do with the r___ on Saturday night into Sunday? We hovered arround 33-34 for most of the night in Dummerston. Lost a bunch of snow...but not all of it.
