They have a moving carpet at Mounsnow and at Alta, I don't really like that.

The carpets are GREAT as long as you just stand still!!! You start trying to "walk" on it and inevitably you'll look like a drunken overgrown penguin trying to waddle with a big #2 in your pants! ;)

Taking notes Nick? Man, I wish I could make the AZ Summit this year, but I've got too much on my plate. That's great that you're having it in February, better chance for good snow. Be careful on the Spillway lift, or whatever they're calling it now. Hopefully next year. I've never been to Mt Snow, driven past it a few times. I think the new lift would be perfect for rainy days. Skiing in the rain is OK, riding lifts in the rain sucks.

Scotty, glad you got out for your first day. Love to share some turns with you at Platty some day. I got a couple BOGO's from a girl at work today for Platty. PM me when you plan on going, maybe we can hook up.

Well let's hope you don't come face to face with a moving carpet lift like Sugar loaf. I fell from it last year ... haha

Thanks guys--My first time there was great!! I noticed how smart they were when they made the trails (excluding South Bowl) and made them really narrow with hidden entrances to keep the snow on the trails. The summit setup with all the trees is really confusing--but helps preserve snow. The wind was whipping more than I thought--I was impressed they could still run all lifts (i thought for sure that the bubble would be closed--more surface area=more swinging---right?) However, I am impressed!

It was a long drive there--being mile-wise the same distance from my house as Loon, but time-wise a 40 minutes drive longer (due to the evilness of route 2--and then to 91, rather than just 93)

The snow was epic!! I will publish a more detailed trip report later. But thanks guys! Great mountain--Loon should take note how more efficient the bubble chair is---it would be a perfect replacement to their evil gondola
