Yeah, nothing crooked about insurance companies. They aren't in it just for the money. They really wanna help people. Just ask Luigi.
They are a necessary evil that should be regulated better (although good luck with that in the current environment). Are you really saying you would prefer to go through life with no home insurance, no auto insurance, no health insurance ? And if your home burns down or you have a heart attack you are fine with paying all expenses out of your own pocket ?

That's a big jump in assumption there. Two things can be true at the same time. 1) You can believe insurance companies are crooked and in it for the money and 2) You can still believe it is worthwhile to carry insurance.

No, I saying I wish insurance companies weren't so crooked and always trying to not live up to their side of the deal we have. I always pay my full amount to them but they are always trying to weasel out of paying up their share to me.

Sure, insurance = money grab.

If it isn’t required by law, I bet you won’t bother with auto insurance. Just money grab by the insurance company.

Same with home insurance too.
Hey it is NH. Car Insurance is not mandatory here.
It is the “the live free or die state“

Home insurance in Mass is pretty cheap and it is definitely not mandatory- unless you have a mortgage. For me it’s worth it,… although I have never had a claim and owned a home for almost 30 years.

Do car manufacturer build cars to “help people”? Or they’re in it for money? ;)

Or for that matter, ski resorts.

It’s not mandatory in most states.

I no longer have a mortgage. But I still carry home owner insurance.
