Will we make the summit by this Memorial Day Weekend? Stay tuned...
That's a definite no...

I'd be down for some left gully skiing this weekend though... but I really have no idea if my dad will, hopefully.

Here's a photo from left gully from the 21st(stolen from K-zone). They have got about 10 inches of snow since then too.

It's not looking very promising that the auto road will open this weekend:

5/24/06 The sun has come out occasionally over the past several days but more often new snow has been falling making for slow progress toward the summit. With a sunny day today we should get moving again! Stay in touch for conditions this weekend - it's still very uncertain whether or not our hard working Road Crew will get us open to the top or not...

The Auto Road is opened to the summit today:

Open to the summit! - 5/27/06 Saturday, 9:00 am - After a month of working on the upper road we were able to open for all vehicles to drive to the summit this morning. A remarkable change considering what the mountain looked like on Monday. As always this is subject to change depending on the weather. Guided Tours operate from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, private cars from 8 am - 5 pm.

hmmm, it wasn't open to ALL vehicles, it was cars only.... but yes.... if you've got the yank to ski the snowfields, now is the time.

there were just a few skiers today, hope someone reports on actual conditions. visibility was crud ( in the clouds and 50-100 ft) and afternoon light rain showers probably didn't make the day.

forecast for tomorrow looks better.
