Well, they got a foot of fluff on top of hardpack that was still evident on anything moderately steep. Harrowing drive to the hill, got rejected by the Moretown gap road. Got a few good runs at it but a massive frost heave kept killing my traction at the crucial point, so I arrived at 9 and got on the single by 9:15. I liked what I saw on the way up, but had heard on the lift line, and there was a doozy of a lift line, that it was fast and light, so blue square pow was the call. Straight out to the 20th for a nice fresh run right off. Great run, def. skiing on the bottom, but skiing with a light edge, it was quite and soft...then we hit the double for a bunch of runs skiing the 'tweener woods and milking the edges of less traveled trails for blown is freshies. The terrain there is very playful. pretty much every patch of woods has some cleaning evident. We just went with flow and had a ball! Last run I went looking for something that drops down to the Mad River Barn. Got into a gully that had it's moments, but was mostly a bushwack. Popped out a SugarBush North. Talked them into giving me a free lift ride so I could skin back over on the LT, but as I gained perspective, I realized it was far, cold and I was not prepared for a long tour, saturated with sweat and no food left. So I did a run out into slide brook and found some pleasant low angle glades. Nice day, lot's of folks, and some good snow.

Thanks for the report.. Heading up to SB or MRG, maybe Stowe on Sunday, this weekend. Hopefully there will be some snow left somewhere.

Good report, I was there today today (last minute change of heart due to roads being spotless in the AM). Was looking out for you but then I realized I had no idea who to look for aside from teles and fat skis

JD covered it pretty well. The snow was a dry but dense wind blown sort and that mostly took care of the sketchy base but it was still evident on the steeper and heavily skied sections. The weekend should be sensational with the base completely covered by the new snow. Single line died down by noon time. First chair it was way long so I skied onto the Double and took two from the Sunnyside. Then hit the Single for more woods and 20th was definitely the winner of the day. Lunch then back to the Double and then more on the Single till 3pm. Excellent day but certainly not quite what was forecasted. Snowed all day but did not notice much accumulation throughout the day.

I was sixth in that opening single line Wednesday. The view behind me:

I figure I would have had a good shot at being first in line if my first run of the day, from a rental through woods and Periwinkle Bowl, hadn't ended near Sunnyside tower 2 with a double-eject forward-projectile-launch kind of thing ...

Anyway, my second first tracks of the day, on Lower Antelope:

And one photo from yesterday afternoon. I'm a shadowy figure ...
