Mt. Grace, MA
Date Hiked: 09/08
Trails(s) Hiked: Metacomet-Monadnock Trail
Total Distance: Just over 3 miles roundtrip
Difficulty: Moderate
Conditions: Hazy, trail conditions good
Special Required Equipment: None
The signage at the base of the mountain is terrible - I nearly circled the mountain before deciding to try a random pull off - there's one sign announcing the state forest - and that's covered up by leaves. The points of entry on the map are not marked at all, except for a sports field of some sort. Nonetheless, I was able to encounter the Metacomet-Monadnock blazes pretty quickly.
There's a firetower on the summit with some pretty landings - quite a few boards that could be stepped through. Nonetheless, a great view of Monadnock and probably many others if not as hazy.
Ascent took about 32 minutes, covering just under 1,000 feet of vertical.
