might be in the area next week, figured I’d ask those more in the know, do we think the Main face will be open next week or will they have gone down to only Carinthia for Monday-Friday?
I have heard, but not had it confirmed from those who would definitely know, that the main face/Northface will be open through the end of next week (Sunday the 16th) and then the last week will be Carinthia only until closing day on the 23rd

Might try and see if anyone who would know is up in the Station Taproom for it's final weekend of the year this coming weekend and get the lowdown on what parts of the mtn close when

This is what I heard as well - main & north until 4/16. Initially it would be Carinthia only after Easter Sunday 4/9, but with how the Mt has held up, they will stay with main & north until 4/16 (probably not what vail had hoped for btw) - still time for vail to bail on us - was super warm today

41 at my condo right now. Snow pack along my walkway lost maybe a foot this week, but is still close to 2ft deep. Going to be interesting to see what next week, especially later next week, does to the operations plans as I am up here for the next 10 days or so with some side trips around VT for turns at other places.

My "goal" the next 10 days is to get a quality goggle tan! 😂

Dated report: last weekend turned out to be a blast. After rain stopped around noon on Sat, the afternoon was some of the best spring conditions Ive seen plus the place was dead, I mean dead. Sunday, although a little colder, it was still awesome conditions and empty...hope its the same this weekend.

They had their poorly marketed winter brewfest which turned out to be solid event. Tap room probably had its busiest Sat in months plus music on a jammed deck for hours. They preemptively moved beer stations inside which I kinda liked, it made outside flow in primary base area better and more relaxed. Love seeing dogs start being more in the mix.

2 small on mtn projects: trees cut at top of Heavy Metal so the connection over to Long John is more accesible and trees cut at intersection of Lodge/Link/Exhibition to ease transition for those coming down Lodge trying to get over to Ego Alley, great idea for borders.

Just told MainFace thru 4/16.

The unanimous consention in the Station Taproom this afternoon was that today was the best Saturday of the season when you factor in weather (perfect Spring Bluebird day) liftlines (no more than 5 min briefly all day) and snow conditions! 10 out of 10 in my book!

I'd counter that last Saturday was tops....after rain stopped, same blue sky but it was warmer and even fewer people then yesterday.

But I did like the TRooms "kick the keg" promo yesterday....we tried to help but finally got kicked out at 7:15..

You probably saw my wife and I, and a few other of my friends, sitting at the corner of the bar. We closed out about 6. Still had many kegs to kick when we left there about 4:45 today.

Rumor from a friend of mine who would be privy to the official plans, is that the main and North faces may also stay open until closing day on the 23rd...

Still a lot of snow on the hill, and while the trail count will drop as the warmth moves in this week, I don't think it will drastically drop

Dang, you still left them with beer? Obviously not working hard enough....or maybe it's just you have to work tomorrow.

Today must have been great. We had to take off as we're flying out early in the am for some sun this week while kids on break. (also wanted to watch masters) I'm headed to PC the week after so looking forward to that but hopefully will hit that last weekend up at MS if not too much competition with lax and baseball. Have to say it's been a great spring.

The cast of characters I was hanging out with today in the Tap for apres, selectively chose to leave some beer, in the hopes that they'll open it up again next weekend! 🤣🤣

Safe travels!

That would probably get me up there. Wont bother for just Carinthia. In Utah until the 17th, so might be done with MS.

And it looks like Saturday will be the end for the main and north face with things going Carinthia only as of Sunday the 16th according to the snow report for tomorrow. I ended up at Stratton for the first half of this week and must say I’m surprised Snow doesn’t feel like they can piece the main face together at least through Sunday this Sunday, never mind next weekend.

They lost 20 trails since Monday when I was there. The base looked good along the cascade side and north face but lows in 50s must of killed it. I was hoping for the main mountain Sunday but now it looks like I'll have to skin up.

Its going quickly out there today...

My weather station at my condo never made it below 62 last night....

Currently (2PM) it's 87 on my car thermometer in the base area parking lot with almost no wind.. It's hot out and melting quick

Thank you! Did that gondola move faster than the doubles? I see that it had an open bottom, could you get a snowboard on that? Does anyone here own one of those old cabins?
