I finally got out for the first rides of the season this week.
St. Paddy's Day ride 3/17:
Decided to give Scoville a quick rip on Tuesday because I really didn't have a whole lot of time. Did about 4 miles or so on the twisties directly around the parking area. The trail conditions were soft and somewhat muddy around some of the corners and in the shade of the pines. I wouldn't say the trails were exactly ready for the amount of riders that have obviously been coming through there. But, they're doable...just gonna be a little haggard until they dry out some more. Some of the bridges that needed replacing or repair are getting some love. A good first ride, but very uneventful!
Wednesday 3/18:
Figured that I would check out the Stone Road side of Nass. on Wednesday. What a GREAT choice! The trails rode much smoother and faster than over at Scoville because they were DRY....really dry for mid March!! The ride totaled about 5 miles all on the east side of Stone. The only minor issue was that the trails were leafy in spots. If you don't know the trails well over here, you could possibly be disoriented and get turned around a bit. That issue is currently being fixed though. Should be good to go by the time you guys get out there!
