Did a little recon last Wed.
I'm waiting for the first big snowstorm to come rolling thru CT so I can ski the following in the same day.
Wickham Park will be a re-do but plan to have a celebratory Ale at the Marco Polo Lounge to top off the day! I might add some more lost areas into the mix while I'm at it.

Henry Park, Vernon
Northview Ski Slope, Manchester
JB Williams Park, Glastonbury
Wickham Park,East Hartford

I think that tow rope line needs a little clearing before it can open to the public... ;)

Sounds like you are trying to convince me that I need the Dukes or Barrons on my new skis instead of the Griffons so I can do some inner city skiing with you.

For JB Williams, if you have two people or two cars, u can park at Gideon Wells school on top of the hill and hike across to the top of the slope and then have a car at the bottom in the lot for the park. Post here or send a PM when ur going. I live in Glastonbury and always wanted to try a run or two there. Have hiked it a bunch of times without snow. My good friend a few years older than me used to ski it as a kid when the rope was running.

Cool, keep us posted.

The closest one to me is the old rope tow hill in Cheshire. I think people sled there now. I should scope it out at lunch.

Hey I just joined. I grew up in Cheshire and learned to Ski at Mixville and MT Southington. I enjoyed the video of Mixville skidmarks, brought back some fond memories, thank you for posting it. The tow at Mixville was working until about 1976. The hill is and has been a very popular sledding hill for as long as I can recall so its usually packed from sledding. I seem to remember the tow breaking down in 75 and there was some effort to fix it by the Cheshire fire dept. My father was a volunteer for many years so we used to have our annual picnics at Mixville. The last time I skied there was about 78 and we had to hoof it up the hill. Love the NELSAP site and look forward to moving back to CT. I now live in SC but am planning on moving back soon.

Thanks for the video again.

Saturdays storm might give us some snow down south. Lets hope it turns and goes way north, but if it does track south then might need to hit JB williams, but would need big dump. That is if it even gets north to CT.
