On the way to Walmart this afternoon I was passed by a MA state trooper on his way to a call. When we got to Walmart, we saw the trooper along with 3 others and several town cops surrounding a house just in front of Wally-world, not even a stones throw from the parking lot. We went into the store, came out an hour later, and the police force had tripled in size! As we were leaving the parking lot, we saw a SWAT member getting suited up and pulling his large tactical weapon from the trunk. Whoever was in that house was coming out one way or the other. According to the local news, the incident had a positive ending:

yeah... here in the Catskills as well..

CATSKILL – State Police at Catskill have arrested six people following an investigation into a home invasion robbery that occurred at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17.

Two masked robbers entered a residence on Cherokee Lane in the Town of Cairo, threatened the occupants with a firearm, bound the adults and fled with several rifles, shotguns and a safe.

At about 3 p.m. State Police, State Parole officer, and Town of Windham Police went to 5390 State Route 23 in Windham to an apartment above the Windham Hardware Store to locate suspects in the burglary. The occupants refused t come out or talk with the police. The immediate area around the apartment was evacuated and traffic was diverted.
